Weekend column – week 3
For readers of this column we have made you aware about our mission in keeping tabs on the corner markets for all 92 football league clubs in England. The premier league at present is the only league where mainstream bookies are pricing up the team line. Now bet365 and William Hill are the two firms where corners may be priced up on individual sides outside the top league. For all time purposes, some markets will not appear until Friday, and this is where this potentially cuts the time fine between finalising this feature.
This is where the skill of making informed bets before pricing is released, so if the target price is not met, it is simply a no bet. Of course I will make my judgements on a realistic and reasonable opinion based on the information available, but must stress my discipline does not mean that if I have priced a game at 1/1 and it heads off at 4/5, this doesn’t mean if it were to lose we lose, as it has not met the target price and is essentially in some discipline terms a non-runner!
With bookmaker margin I will be expecting a few of my targeted games with an implied probability of 50% to be 5/6 by bookies, and I want this to be avoided where possible.
I will run through some of the early statistics on each of the four leagues, where you will not see anywhere on the planet!
Premier League:
Versus B365 official corner line:
10/20 home sides have exceeded the quoted betting line.
8/20 visiting sides have exceeded the quoted betting line.
Only Manchester City, Sunderland, Stoke, West Brom and Spurs are 2/2 on their betting line
Sides that have failed 2/2 to hit overs on the official betting line - Hull, Leicester, West Ham, Everton, C Palace, Man U and Watford.
Championship:
19/48 games have seen 12 or more corners
Only Nottingham Forest have hit overs on 4/4
Only Huddersfield games have not hit overs in 4/4 (11 or fewer)
League one:
19/48 games have seen 12 or more corners
11/24 sides have seen 75% of their 4 games see 11 or fewer corners
Port Vale and Chesterfield are the only 2 sides to see 12 or more in 3/4 games this term.
League two:
27/48 games have seen 12 or more corners
10/12 hit over last weekend!
Luton and Blackpool have had match corners of 12 or more in 4/4 with all 24 teams seeing 12 or more corners in at least 1 of their opening 4 games.
As we are still early on in the season, please check back on site by 9:45am Saturday UK time at lockuptipster.weebly.com on any League one/two corner bets and shall send an update out regarding the bets on other leagues by 9pm Friday UK time.
Recommended bets:

MK/Peterborough both to score & Sheffield United to score – 2.00 Unibet 1.5 pts
(Further bets to follow as quoted above)
