We are down to the final four and on Monday 2nd January we will discover who contests the 2023 PDC World Championship final!
To make the final -
MVG Vs Smith - 4/7
MVG Vs Clemens - 3/1
Bergh Vs Smith - 8/1
Bergh Vs Clemens - 20/1
Smith Vs Clemens - 19:15pm
Smith - 4/11
Clemens - 5/2
Smith up-to Christmas had a flawless display and had a sideways game against Bunting. In very much what you may consider Smith’s B game averaged a meagre 91.63, but hit the doubles at the right time to progress 5-3, although mid-game did look vulnerable.
Clemens was superb against Price, who part way through applied some ear defenders during his 5-1 defeat to the mighty German! The 800 strong German crowd was notable for their support and it should not let you be put off the 5/2 on offer. I feel the pricing has been reflected partially on the performance that Clemens is getting better knocking on the door for a Premier League spot. It would be good for German darts and the audience and think this is the game which will either make or break Gab’s entry into the Premier League.
Smith was lacklustre on the maximums, with many betting slips torn up, which you may argue after a title winning display versus Cullen was a post game hangover on performance.
Smith knows the carrot is there to swipe and would have expected a Price semi final. However do not take Smith’s maximum count in his quarter final.
Clemens fluency will be necessary at times and a bullseye finish at evens is a fair price to consider in the event Smith’s power scoring invokes a tall finish from the German!
MVG Vs Bergh - Approx 21:30
Match Odds
MVG 1/6
Bergh - 28/5
Some of the stats is fairly similar with the pair playing 76 (MVG) and 77 (Bergh) legs winning 51 (Bergh) and 52 (MVG)
The clear standout stat is that Bergh has had just one 100+ checkout to MVG’s four. Coral goes just 8/15 the green machine heads to the final with the bigger checkout tonight. If it was not for Bergh waking up in the maximums department it might be difficult to consider Dimi. However the average 180 per leg is 0.3116 per leg to MVG’s 0.3026.
Generally the most 180 price has slick Belgian at 5/6, with MVG 7/5 broadly with the tie at 10/1.
MVG did not need his whole game against Dobey, losing just three legs en-route to the final. MVG has four of the top ten highest game averages, where in his quarter final pocketed a 102.39. As a guide only, Dimi hit a 95.49 against Clayton to get to the semi final.
This could be an energetic game, however MVG is too short against the capable Bergh. However with the #1 status up for grabs, MVG wants this and as mentioned on previous features, I feel MVG will get it. Skybet’s 5/4 that Bergh nets the most 180’s and MVG wins the game has a fair chance of landing. MVG tends to cover shoot so effortlessly on the 19’s with great board management.
Recommendation -
Clemens - to win any leg on Bullseye - 1/1 Will Hill/Skybet 1pt
MVG to win/Bergh most 180s - 5/4 Skybet 1pt
